If you are like me you have given up wearing pumps years ago. In my twenties my feet could take a pounding and I could dance all night and take the subway home at 4 am without any repercussion. These days I'm a bit more protective of my feet and demand a little more in quality, comfort, and design. This new pump, the Esperanza (hope in Spanish) is classic in design with an unexpected cut-out ankle. I just saw Lala Land on my flight and could totally see leading lady Emma Stone dancing the night away in these #vintage inspired #heels. At just under a 3" inch heel height (which doctors recommend you don't go over) you'll get all the height you want without the torture.
The retro heel cut-out allows for maximum ventilation, but the toe protection allows for this versatile style to be worn with tights or even cute ankle socks in the cool weather.
Manufactured in Alicante, Spain where shoes are still being handmade by generations of artisans. The design is in the details, from the choice of upper, and the soft eco-suede lining (all imported from Italy), to the European hardware.

I met Bhava's founder Francisca on an Innovation in Sustainable Textiles panel in NYC probably a decade ago. We ended up in Costa Rica at the same exact time years later - her visiting family, me running away from my life for a week on a solo trip. She told me then how she started BHAVA. She had been working in the traditional leather shoe industry, until it led her to a health crisis from the toxins she was breathing. She had to stop, quit, live with her family, give up her apartment - and start a new chapter. In this chapter she decided to create her own brand - non-toxic, animal-free, beautiful comfy well made shoes. Her boots are some of my very favorite shoes and I've worn her combat boot in every season. Now I'm so excited to share her lovely shoes for your special day too.
